*** INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Please note, your deadline is December 1st.
Your completed application for the graduate program in Sociology must contain each of the following required materials to be considered for admission.
1. The Application, Parts I and II.
2. A $50 application fee made out to the University of Colorado ($70 for International Applicants.)
3. The Standard Graduate Record Examination for general aptitude (verbal & quantitative) is required for entrance into the Graduate Program. You may learn where and when to take the GRE by contacting the Department of Research and Testing at any nearby university or by visiting their website. The Institute Code for University of Colorado at Boulder for GRE test is 4841 and the Sociology Department Code is 2102.
4. Three letters of recommendation are required (however, up to four recommendation letters will be accepted). It is highly recommended that these letters be obtained from members of the academic community, but recommendations of a professional nature will also be accepted.

Out-of-state students and international students aren’t required to fill this form at this time. Once out-of-state students reside in Colorado for 12 months, they need to petition for in-state classification, which is done via a different method. International students aren’t eligible to apply for in-state classification.
8. A writing sample is optional. If you want to include a writing sample, you must submit it online with your statement of purpose and other materials. Please do not submit more than ten double-spaced pages.
Only complete applications submitted by December 15 will be accepted (DECEMBER 1 for International Students). The Department does not admit students for Spring session.
