Thank you for visiting my webpage. I am pleased to be joining the faculty of Bradley University in Peoria, Il in the Fall of 2011 as an assistant professor of political science.

I received my Ph.D. in political science from the University of Colorado at Boulder in May, 2011. My research focuses on American institutions and methodology. I examine why particular institutions are chosen in different circumstances, and how those choices are driven by actors' incentives. I am also interested in institutional conflict and bargaining, especially within Congress. My dissertation focuses on how the chambers reach agreement, but I am also interested in conflict and bargaining as it relates to Congressional committees, legislative provisions, and coalitions.

My methodological interests focus on theories of causal inference and formal modeling.
